Steven Durfor is the new Sheriff for Yuba County. He is reported as saying that personal protection is a qualifying "good cause".

If you live in Yuba county, drop him a note thanking him for supporting CCW in his jurisdiction.

There was a new sheriff elected late last year and he is very pro ccw. Born and raised here and has spent entire career with Yuba S.O.

Process is simple: Under old sheriff had to take 8 hour class at Yuba College. $55.00 for class and $10.00 range fee. Issued cert of completion listing up to three guns on permit.

Applications readily available at sheriff's dept info counter (with a smile I might add). $120.00 includes DOJ and livescan fees. Show proof of residency and articulate true need and bang; issued within about 10 days.

As far as I could tell self defense is reasonable cause.
